Better Signage into Scottsdale from Camelback
When driving east on Camelback the welcome sign into Scottsdale is blocked by a huge pipe and can be barely seen unless your looking for it. Many of the main streets have better signage than the one now be represented. The signage should be representative of the great city Scottsdale is. A joint venture even with Phoenix in designing a overhead sign with Scottsdale on one side and Phoenix on the other. I believe it is important to provide a great first impression when entering a city.

Sculpture in Scottsdale to honor Arizona's 100th Anniversary
This being Arizona's 100th Anniversary it would be a way of Scottsdale to celebrate through a public sculpture to honor the past and leave a rememberance into the future. Scottsdale has been a leader and a example for many communities in Arizona and in the world for embracing the arts. Not sure maybe this is already in the works but would volunteer in anyway to make this a reality. As an added note the sculpture could have a time capsule to be opened on Arizona's 200th anniversary.

Dorthy McKee brings up some good points to the problems faced by the city and COS in the upkeep of our communitie's treasures. It is frustrating and easy to give up and become appathetic to the point of giving up on finding solutions to our cities problems. What has drawn me to Scottsdale is that it a community this is proud of it's city. In all honesty I hope that as a city of brilliant minds, solutions to all our problems can be solved. In a time of economic woes art often takes a back seat. Developing solutions such as having companies, schools, organizations, etc. adopt public art to help in the upkeep and restoration of our cities treasures.

I love your passion, DANIEL ALBERS, for the CITY OF SCOTTSDALE, THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE HERE, FOR HISTORY, ART AND CREATIVE SOLUTIONS. I would like to see more art and allow us, the citizens, to become stewards of it possibly by your suggestion of volunteering. Thank you Daniel for your great suggestions!! Now let's see what the Scottsdale Cultural Council does with your suggestions. In fact, you can go to their website and there is information on..."How to Propose New Projects and Plans for Arts in Scottsdale." I think you have a great idea so why don't you propose it directly to Scottsdale Cultural Council. They are the people who are responsible for art projects in Scottsdale. Good Luck! Make our City More Beautiful!! Sincerely, Dorothy
