The new "Impulsion" sculpture is great. The light on the stainless steel is spectacular at sunset. The McDowell Mountains behind me are obscured by high voltage lines. The tent on the left is temporary for events in the month of January so that is understandable. To put such a wonderful sculpture in Scottsdale and yet have light poles ruin any vantage point for a photographic opportunity is sad.

I hope the city will see this picture and realize that this sculpture could be a landmark for Scottsdale if they make this shot photogenic.

By the way the stop sign in the picture is in the worst spot possible. It is set back from the intersection by 50 feet and makes no sense. Most people I have seen, while sitting here for a significant amount of time, do not know how to handle this intersection. Moving it to the actual point of intersection and out of the shot would be something to consider as well.

Jerrod - thanks for your comments.

And, that's a beautiful photo - I'll forward your observations to our capital construction folks & get back to you.

Jerrod, I've done some investigating, and learned that we can't remove the light pole because it illuminates the intersection, and right now there is no money to relocate it to the west side of the street.

Master planning in this area continues, so that's not necessarily the final answer, but that's the way it is for now. Thanks again for your comment, and at the very least our project managers & planners have this issue on the list.

Thanks, Kelly
